My PS3 is on the fritz (original model style - working intermittantly) and I am considering a PS4 purchase as a replacement. Given the "infinite" amount of time my kids and I have put into DI 1.0 and 2.0, is there a way to move the data files from the PS3 to a new PS4 so that when I run on PS4 the characters, toys, achievements/feats, and playsets are all where I left off on PS3 for DI 2.0 or must I start back at ground zero? Also, does PS4 even support DI 1.0? I understand that I need a new console-specific disc for the PS4. Trying to avoid the amnesia aspect. Thanks in advance for any tips.

You'll have to start over, and no. PS4 can't play 1.0. All your 1.0 stuff can be used in the ToyBox, though.

To expand on what mtm has said. If you place your 1.0 figures on the ps4 2.0 version then everything will be unlocked from the 1.0 section.

All figures will be starting over again (although the 2.0 ones might retain levels if you share ownership).

Its only worth it if you build a lot and want to do it without limits. Visually its nicer but not enough to make it stand out. I upgraded only for this game and don't regret it as I build but if I didn't it wouldn't be worth it.
But for future games it'll be worth it 100%

Thanks everyone for the tips. Guess starting over is in order. My PS3 DI 2 is also cracked from coming in and out of its case, so looks like I need a new disc regardless the platform. Figure I might as well buy for the new platform and take in the expanded toy box and better graphics.

Any toyboxes you built on the PS3 can transfer over to the PS4. But that's about it. Once you get 3.0, you won't want to play 2.0 anyway.
