Is Toy Story playset really going to be Star Command playset

I've been seeing a lot of ingame stuff relating to Toy Story.
And then the metaphorical light bulb went on.


Is the Toy Story playset going to be a Star Command playset?


So far, I've seen very little of the world of Toy Story, but a lot of stuff relating to Star Command.
That would be a factor for concern, since I was never really interested in Star Command.

Plus, my favorite figure is Jessie and it would look a little wierd having a cowgirl doing space missions.



I'd prefer Woody's Roundup stuff, since I found that most interesting.
But not sure if that is going to be included in the game or not.

well the play sets confirmed name is Toy Story in Space
the playset piece is buzz's cardboard spaceship
the gameplay videos seen thus far also are all spaced based.
so yes

The story is you have to repopulate a planet for the aliens. That's all we know story wise. So could be about star command.

Darn it.

I guess I'm putting that Playset piece on the "won't use this" shelf then.
That's how much I dislike Star Command, I really don't want to play it.


Crazy thought: if only I could get Jessie into the Lone Ranger playset!
Yes, I know it's not possible, but still, it would be a more appropriate location for her instead of a space themed playset.

My thoughts are that they didn't do Woody's Round up because it would be too similar in theme to Lone Rangers and they didn't have a "space" theme so they went with Buzz.

I like Toy Story, and my daughter LOVES Jessie, but I think this is a good choice to provide more diversity to the game options.

i think a lot of it too was the fact that it would've been too similar to the toy story 3 toy box. after toy story 3 the original plan (before infinity) was to do a new toy story game with the buzz lightyear toy box. so this way they get to use their efforts towards that to make it a playset.

Yeah, I wouldn't at all want a Jessie's round up, but I LOVE the aliens and this will be the absolute best they could do (I only wish we had Alien figures -- sigh).

Bring Jessie into a LR themed toybox and she'll be right at home (Woody, too, for that matter).

Well, it takes place in space, so partly yes. And the reason they did space is because in toy story 3 the theme was mostly western, so they mixed it up this time.

Does anyone remember what Pete the Prospector says about space toys?
It seems particularly appropriate here.

Ironically, I want to play with wild west themed toys instead.
And normally, I'm really into sci-fi, so that says a lot!


It just seems that they're going against the message of Toy Story here, that old style Wild West toys can still have merit in a world full of electronic gadgetized toys.


I get the diversity concept, but as I never played the LR playset, I wouldn't really notice if there was another similar theme.
I suppose that also means, not having the playset, I don't have the vault unlocks to construct a proper playset for Jessie and Woody.
