Violet's Block - inconsistencies

Postby buckmana » Sun Dec 01, 2013 8:07 am

I was testing Violet's block to see how it truly performed against a variety of enemies.

Results can be seen in this video:

Oddly, it wasn't really what I expected.

Since her block stops the most deadly ranged weapon in the game cold (Tank Omnidroid beam), I assumed lesser ranged attacks would just be insignificant.
But as the video shows, that is not the case!

The only variation I was able to get is when she fires off her ranged attack, it can dissipate Blasting Zurgbot shots.

This is highly inconsistent with the movie version.
Violet's shield is impervious to pretty much everything except being sat on by the final version of the Omnidroid.
And even then, the Omnidroid had to use all it's strength to do that, when it tried to punch through the shield, it's hands just bounced off!
Physical impact, explosions, collisions with speeding armored vehicles, bullets, even Syndrome's zero point energy couldn't get through it.
The amount of damage her shield shrugs off like water is impressive.

So why is the game version so inconcievably weak compared to that?

It's definitely weird, but to be fair, they had to nerf the character somehow.
