Play online on different plattforms?

Postby illuminaugust » Sun Jan 19, 2014 9:19 am

I've been looking for an answer to this question but can't find it.
Can you play against someone who's not using the same console as yourself? Say wii u against ps3 for example.
Thank you!

No, I don't think so.

This forum has friend requests divided into Ps3, Wii and xBox groups.

I suspect this is because they're using 3 different social online networks which aren't compatible with each other.

So if you're interested in gaming with someone in DI, make sure you choose your console carefully, since players like myself may have chosen one console only and ignored the other two.

Sadly, not unless it wins a challenge.

See that's something I don't get why thet didn't include, the possibility to send or share a toy box with a friend. They probably will in DI 2.

I don't know if Disney could, sadly. It'd take a lot of talks, and Sony, MS and Nintendo'd have to work something out.

Sorry to burst the bubble of hope, but Microsoft aren't big on co-operating with ANYBODY.
I think the reason is that they believe we should only use Microsoft products and therefore, do whatever they can to make sure they don't co-operate with the competition, whoever they may be.

I don't know much about Sony, since cross platform games are rare with them, but there have been a few that were.
Whether or not the PSN network was compatible with other networks, I cannot say.

Nintendo I know nothing about, so if someone has perspective to offer, please do so.

As an aside, how many of you know about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_(software)?
Some people hate it, but for social gaming, I find it an incredibly efficient tool.
It is partially cross-platform, as you can use it on PCs and Macs equally.
I'm uncertain if it's possible to expand Steam into console territority.
