LightCore Skylanders/Infinity Mod Idea

So, I've recently discovered that LightCore Skylanders actually react to the Infinity base! The lights aren't solid, but they do flicker a bit.

I'm wondering...what if I went about taking apart a Light Core skylander, and somehow running the light through an Infinity figure? For example...Mater's one headlight?

Your thoughts on this?

Have no idea what you mean as I'm not familiar with skylanders. Do you mean somehow putting a light inside mater so that his headlight lights up?

There are special Skylanders called "LightCore" models that have special lights in them that only glow when they are put on the Skylanders portal. What MonkeyDLenny is saying is, these lights also glow a bit when you put them on the Infinity base as well, so he could take one of these special lights from a Skylander, and put it in an Infinifigure so that it only glows when it is on the portal, for example, like he said, Mater's one headlight. Personally, I think this would be a wicked awesome idea!

I think I need to see one to understand if its like an led light or just like the crystals from infinity would light up.

Does sound cool but would it be worth taking apart a skylanders?

these are 2 lightcore skylanders i modified myself.

in this one i added an extra 2 lights, 1 under the torch on each arm




in this one i added 4 extra lights, 2 for the eyes and 1 on each wing




they took many hours but you basically just run extra wires from the lightcore chip in the base to low voltage led lights

WHOA! Excellent work Sheriff!! If you could do it then so could I. Though it'd be extra work since I'm taking the lights from one figure and transferring it to another. How did you go about taking the Skylander apart?

heat the base with a hair dryer and the glue softens. same thing with the joins. sometime the will then just pull apart other times you may need to wedge in a screw driver and then use something to cut parts apart. different figures are joined in different ways. have fun
