BionicKoalaBoy's BASH AT CUSTOM FIGURES

After seeing other's custom Captain America figure's, I thought I'd give it a bash myself. Particularly as I have found a shop in my home town that sells second hand figures, 3 for £5 ( $7 ) - I can afford to experiment. The 3 i've done so far have costume power discs. So I've attached the disc to the bottom of the figures with a BLUE TACK 'glu dot'. It means they remain in that costume, and are essentially a new figure. I used a scalpel to remove and sculpt, then fine sandpaper. Captain A's gun and cross body strap, are made from crafting 'foam', Which I superglued on. Gamora's knee caps are made from FIMO, which is like SCULPY I think. The paints are Humbrol Matt enamels - The kind used for Airfix and modelling. It's important to use matt, as I don't think any of the figures have a glossy finish. I did get a bit impatient as each coat takes overnight to dry. White takes a lot of coats to get good coverage, so Gamora was particularly a pain. I think I might go the whole hog and try a luke in flight suit next, as we've ended up with a double because of light FX. ( Don't get me started on that one... )

Oh and I made my stand from plastic plumbing down-pipe, each one 4cm taller than the last, and pine board sawn and painted.

I tried to check out your figures, but the link didn't work. Might be why you haven't had any comments.

@Paradox

Thanks PAradox, I'm a bit old school and new to html. And thanks for the compliment Infinirama. Can anyone give me a quick tip on directly posting images in posts please? I'm sorry to be a pain. Not sure what to put inside the (img) brackets, does the image have to exist online, or cannot be sat on my desktop? I'm sure no-one else needs to see it, so a private message would be fine :) Thanks guys

It's a bit permanent, but if you heat the Base you can remove the tag, if you wanted to, you could do this to a disc and remove the costume power up, and put both tags in your figure which would tidy the job up but leave you unable to use other discs if you wanted to

You have some really cool customs there. I especially like your Gamora. Who are you going to do next?
