The Quest to Get a D23 Mickey

It cost $57 for someone to attend the D23 Expo so that may be the lowest point that you see this figure go for. For future events, we could establish a sponsorship program where a member could sponsor another member or member's child or spouse to go to the event in exchange for the figure.

Is the Mickey that's going to be released later the crystal variant of this mickey, or will he have a different paint job entirely?

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to pay for this D23 sorcerer mickey, or if a non-crystal version can fill the spot in my collection a little later.

Good luck on your quest!

3 different Mickeys total
D23 Mickey
Regular mickey
Crystal mickey

In game the d23 mickey is the same as the regular. I'd only suggest getting it as a collectors item.

A side note. I went to the event and it did not seem like there was near 5000 people. Maybe 2000 at most. Some people may have gotten extra. That would still make it less than the projected 5000 available.

Below is a link to a picture of the Sorcerer Mickey that is being released in January.

Sorcerer Mickey Picture

The difference between the one released at the D23 Expo and the one being released in January is that the one released in January has light blue stars and the one released at D23 Expo has silver stars.

Thank you Notorius and Pirate Steven! That is exactly what I wanted to know!

It's crazy, but even just having the stars a different color makes me want one so. badly. I know they had the promotion with some extra D23 Mickey's in New York - hopefully all 5000 are in circulation, if not yet then soon!

I think they are all in circulation now. Coincidentally, I picked up the last two Mickeys in NYC. When I went to the Times Square event on launch day, they told me that I got the last two. Talk about lucky, right?! :D

^ Super lucky, congrats!! :D Never been to NYC, but I imagine like this magical moment where a crowd of 100 people followed you singing into Time's Square and then they bestowed the last two Mickeys to you and everybody had something witty and posh to say... and Audrey Hepburn was there? Yeah... I've never been further East than Chicago, but I'm sure movies from the 30s are pretty representative of every awesome moment in NYC. :P
