The "This is Halloween" Topic

Postby PirateSteven » Thu Oct 03, 2013 5:09 am

If I had to pick my favorite holiday on the spot, I would have to say that I have always treasured Halloween. Sure, there are so many great holiday choices to choose from, but Halloween has always produced so many fond childhood memories of Halloween parties, trick-or-treating in costume, and Halloween themed TV shows. Other easy holiday favorite choices would have been for me to say Mardi Gras, Super Bowl Sunday, or maybe even Christmas.

For this topic, let us discuss what we are most looking forward to this Halloween. If you are dressing in costume this year, what's the theme this year? Anybody planning on a Disney Infinity Inspired costume? If Halloween is celebrated differently in your country, how do you celebrate?

I am most looking forward to going trick-or-treating with my family. My five year old is going to be Jango Fett. My two year old is going to be Agent P, and I am going to be Dr. Doofensmirtz. Curse you Perry the Platypus!

On Halloween, I really just buy a video game and eat candy while playing it.

Halloween is not traditionally celebrated in Australia.

But lately, I've noticed supermarkets and other large department stores jumping on the bandwagon, mostly in the interest of selling candy and Halloween themed items.

But as far as public endorsement of that event, I haven't seen any indications that it's been accepted as an event here.

I kinda want to be Fix-It Felix Jr this year,
but, I don't know what to do since there
really is no costume for the character.

My family doesn't celebrate Halloween because it's "an American holiday". That makes me sad. :( This is my favourite holiday after Mad Hatter's Day. And I've always wanted an excuse to do cosplay more.

I would go as Vanellope (or re-use my Sprocket costume from last year) in a heartbeat, but since I'm hardly seen in my outfits, I don't have much motivation to spend effort on costumes or even wear them very often since showing them off is most of the fun for me.

So yeah I'll just be playing Animal Crossing dressing up as a ghost and wearing mummy bandages instead ;_; *foreveralone*

My daughter (7) is going as Fionna the Human this year and we just finished her costume. The shirt, skirt, backpack and Cake were handmade as was her "Crystal Sword". The sword is made from pink acrylic and even lights up! The hat was purchased from Entertainment Earth.

Halloween is my favorite day of the year too. :D I am having a party with my friends. I am going as.....well, Captain Jack Sparrow! Who'd have thunk it? I am wearing fake dreadlocks. My actual hair is past my shoulders. (Yes, I am a guy, and yes, I have long hair, lol). I am sort of mixing it in with the locks. I am also braiding my beard, which I have grown for the occasion, and I'm putting beads in it. And what would it be without the gold teeth? Yup, I got that covered too. I am going all out this year in honor of Disney Infinity, and to represent my happiness of having my favorite Disney character of all time included with the starter pack! :D
Welcome to the Caribbean, love!
