Me personally, I'm not a fan of classic disney or those cartoons that built the company.
I get a little annoyed everytime I see them.
The way I see it, Disney is built on their movies (the animated ones, not the tv or direct2dvd tripe they keep mass producing).
Mickey Mouse and the others are just 5 minute entertainments, made for brief amusements.
But Disney keeps pushing those characters (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Scrooge?) to always be on top, regardless of the situation.
An analogy, it's like going to a restaurant, expecting a 5 star meal and being served a snack cake, then another one and another one after that.
While all the time, you just want a good solid meal.
Also, I've never really been a fan of antropormophization.
If you're going to make an animal humanoid, go all the way!
Don't just do it by half-measures by make a talking animal that stands upright and has hands.
Admittedly, I can't think of many examples where they created a humanoid animal.
Orube from W.I.T.C.H. and Cat from Red Dwarf are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.
They were cats.
But aside from minor differences, you wouldn't know they weren't just like everyone else.
Orube has pointed ears (which she kept concealed under her hair while she was on our planet).
She also has yellow eyes, but nobody really commented on that (even though her apparent ethnicity normally has very dark, almost black eyes). But since it's possible (although incredibly rare) in real life for yellow eyes to exist, maybe they assumed she was one of those people.
Cat has prominent canine fangs.
