hey all I thought that I could show my art which is mostly disney related
I'll tell something about myself.
I love making and admiring art and when I grow up I want to work at either disney or pixar as an animator
I'm half dutch half american and I will be moving there in 2 years when I apply to CalARTS.

Oh and I love Kidrobot!

This I made out of a munny from kidrobot and since I love the incredibles I made this.

I will put as much art as I can on here and will be gladly participating in the art contests.

Nice little figure!

Just curious, do you aspire to be just an animator, or do you want to want to learn different aspects of the field (modeling, rigging, textures, etc..)?

The only reason I ask is that if you're only interested in character animation, you don't necessarily need to go to CalArts. You could just as easily take online courses such as Animation Mentor or AnimSchool and get the same if not better results.

As far as character animation is concerned, studios like Pixar and Dreamworks are only interested in how good your demo reel is, not what school you went to or what degree you have.

Don't get me wrong, art schools and degrees are great, I'm only offering this info because I spent years under the assumption that I'd never get hired at a mojor studio unless I earned a degree at an expensive art school when in reality an animator position depends solely on your ability

FelixBrownSLC do you have any links to good demo reels available online as examples? maybe demo reels of people you work with?

I have no idea who this is, but here is an example of a great online animation student's demo reel that would be a serious candidate at any studio.

The current industry standard is Autodesk's MAYA. While some studios use their own proprietary software, most are similar to Maya.

You can purchase or download a trial or learning edition here:
