Amiibos - Debate!

@MightyGitis I totally agree! That plastic thing on Link ruins it.

I'm sure we all understand that the poses required the plastic thing. The question is, why did Nintendo decide to give them all those poses!? Yes, the answer is to match the poses in the game... but WHY? They could've change the models in the game to match a logical pose for the figure.

I love Nintendo, I really really do... But IMO, the whole Amiibo thing is just a big fail. I have used 2 in Smash, just to see what it was like. The others are sitting on a shelf doing nothing. Sure, most of them look nice enough, but it's not enough for me to want to continue. I'll grab Toad, if at all possible, and I'll be done with it until they come out with a game that I really enjoy with better Amiibo support. Mario Party seems to be a better use for them at least.

@goofy boy that's what I meant with my question, why not do a pose that doesn't require the plastic thing.

I don't think amiibos is a fail, far from it from what I read, but their marketing could be better.

I'll end up grabbing a few like the big 1st party ones but just to have (they'll probably stay in boxes)

Amiibos are not scannable through the package unless you make an incision in the plastic to remove the metallic film they applied to bloc the nfc. Unless they changed it...

@Elmo STM: I am not talking about the money they are making with them, I'm simply stating my opinion on the use I have for them. I don't really see this as a Win since they have a very limited use in games. As a collector, sure, the figures are nice enough to collect and display.

I agree goofyboy, they didn't even have to do the exact same pose as their pics in the game!

Just got a Toad Amiibo from Target! That makes two rare Amiibos I have. (The first one is WFT).
