Just noticed this as the bottom of game's box: "Internet Connection required" Uh, why? Seems a bit odd and although not an issue for myself, it does mean some kids may not get the christmas present they want, or worse, get it on the day but can't play it...

I'm buying this. Wow. Disney Infinity, amiibo, and this to collect.

The Ninjago figures, LEGO Movie figures and the Wicked Witch look awesome!

@ptr362 I've heard from sources that this initial starter pack and game disc will be continually compatible with all future Expansion packs long in to the future (as oppose to Infinity and Skylanders that release new discs for new figures annually) . Of course its hard to tell how true this is, or whether or not this will actually be the case, but with this in mind assuming that there's future expansions that aren't on the disc, it may involve needing an internet connection to patch in new content sometime down the road, of course an internet connection may also be required to download the levels in these level packs, looking at the Back to the Future pack, there isn't a piece tailored specifically to unlocking the level (like Infinity's playset pieces) so the level packs may have the gadgets, figures and a download code for the level! Purely speculation of course as the marty mcfly figure in itself may just unlock the level etc.

If you're thinking that you are going to go broke off of this game, by observation, the game runs on the same engine as basically every other LEGO game, meaning that the gameplay is likely to be similar. If you didn't like previous LEGO games, chances are you won't enjoy this one.

Was looking at the Lego Dimension's website and came across a different image for the starter pack than others that are around the web:

Full resolution picture

In particular if you look at the top you can see it appears that they list some of the additional figures that will be available (all be it in a really low res shot) I know a lot of these have been announced already and I haven't the keenest of eyes, but I can certainly see what looks like Bart Simpson on there (3rd figure in on the bottom row) which would make sense with all these mini figures and sets coming out based on The Simpson's lately.
