Hyrule Warriors meets sales expectations in Japan, above expectations overseas

Koei Tecmo seems to be pleased with the performance of Hyrule Warriors. During the company’s latest financial earnings Q&A, Koei Tecmo couldn’t say if the game surpassed the 500,000 target since Nintendo handled publishing in the west. However, Hyrule Warriors’ Japanese sales are in line with what was expected, and overseas sales are above expectations. There are hopes for even higher sales outside of Japan with more shipments in the second half of the fiscal year.

Nintendo Confirms Sheik & Toon Link Amiibo Are Compatible With Hyrule Warriors, Toon Link Also With Mario Kart 8

Nintendo has confirmed two models from the third wave of amiibo will be compatible with Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors. Revealed yesterday by Nintendo of Japan, the 11 new Smash Bros amiibo models will go on sale in the region between January and February 2015. With the announcement, the company also stated that both Toon Link and Sheik would be compatible with previously released Wii U games.

As well as the standard Link amiibo, Toon Link will also be compatible with Mario Kart 8, possibly unlocking another Mii racer suit, while both Sheik and Toon Link will work with Hyrule Warriors. Nintendo has yet to confirm exactly what the third wave of amiibo models will unlock in the latter, but hopefully we’ll catch wind of the details soon. The official amiibo site also states that Zelda will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors when she releases as part of the second wave in December.

Since all Amiibo's are compatible with Hyrule Warriors I assume Toon Link, Sheik and Zelda will unlock a new weapon just like Link unlocks the Spinner.
All other Amiibo's unlock a random weapon, rupees or material.

Zelda Wii U Looks “More Amazing” Now Compared To When It Was First Revealed

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has revealed that the upcoming Zelda for Wii U looks even “more amazing” now compared to when it was unveiled earlier this year. The Wii U console’s first original Zelda title was revealed at E3 2014, when Aonuma talked about his desire to create an open-world installment in Nintendo’s action-adventure series. In addition, Aonuma hinted that Zelda for Wii U may make another appearance at E3 2015.

“Now it looks more amazing than what was shown at E3,” said Aonuma.
