I think that there should be a whole forum where we do properly set up polls eg ticking a box or something like that.

Why not make it so that polls can be added to any topic?

I'd be okay with it, but also thnk they shouldn't be in every topic. I probably couldn't stress that enough.
I think there needs to be limitations, maybe you could use a poll in some sections but not all.
And perhaps it can only be used if it added any actual depth to a topic.
Perhaps it wouldn't be the best idea...

What about if it IS a topic thread and it's has a question, then there should be a button to add a poll on it!

Add some for topics in the what should I buy section.
(Whatever its called now, i haven't been there in forever.)

i have left this suggestion open to comments for several weeks to see the reaction of forum members.

due to the lack of replies and interest overall, polls will not be implemented at this time.
