forum member kslush1 attended an exclusive event for D23 members on 18 July that was held in in the Gaslamp Quarter as part of Comic-Con.

"I was watching as the screen flashed different slides with things from the game. Part of the presentation was showcasing different items that are in the toy box. I remember thinking I need to take a picture. An image was shown of the Tron Recognizer and Sorcerer Mickey was in the drivers seat. By the time I got my phone it went off screen before I could get a picture."

... combined with the cached Mickey listing this gives more support to the idea that the magic of Mickey will soon be part of the magic of Disney Infinity.

the obvious place for any formal announcement would be at the D23 Expo

This is good news, and news that was somewhat expected. Obviously Mickey Mouse started the avalanche (pardon the pun) of Disney characters, so he has to appear in the game, and I hope we see more of his gang, like Donald and Goofy, in the future.

I have one I took today at comic con. I just don't know how to add it. I was playing it today and saw it in the loading screen and snapped a pic to post here.
