I didn't go to see the Cinderella movie, so I missed out on seeing Frozen Fever, and Disney still hasn't added the Frozen Fever short to iTunes. *tears* (I did get the song though!)

^It's probably gonna be out when Cinderella comes out on DVD and Blu-ray in a few months from now or so.

@ArchyLinShved14 I hope Frozen Fever is available separately on iTunes and not bundled with Cinderella as a bonus feature.

'Frozen Fever' (and Easter Eggs!) Coming Soon on Disney Shorts Blu-ray (Exclusive)

Olaf just got another reason to celebrate summer: Frozen Fever — along with 11 other notable Walt Disney animated shorts — will be available for home viewing during the snowman’s favorite season.

The dozen award-winning and fan-favorite shorts (listed below) will be available on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on Aug. 11 and on Blu-ray Aug. 18. (Three of the shorts have never been released on video before: Frozen Fever, Tick Tock Tale, and Lorenzo.)

“If Frozen Fever draws people to watch the other shorts… it’s all a good thing,” Disney’s Kristina Reed told Yahoo Movies. She produced two films in the forthcoming collection that have won Oscars — Feast and Paperman.

Reed also pointed out some previously unknown Easter eggs: Keep your eyes peeled for a covert Baymax (from Big Hero 6) hiding somewhere inside Frozen Fever. Also, if you look closely at Feast (the adorable story of a puppy with an insatiable appetite) you’ll see a secret nod to Paperman (the memorable short about a romance conducted via paper airplane).

As the exclusive trailer above depicts, Disney has a long and rich history when it comes to animated shorts, dating all the way back to 1928’s Steam Boat Willie. The tradition continues to this day inside the mega-studio for three reasons, said Reed: “One, to give young filmmakers a chance to flex their muscles; two, to explore new visual territory; and three, to practice storytelling.”

When it comes to new shorts in Disney’s pipeline, Reed would only say that several are in progress and they will be released in the “same trajectory” as in the past (i.e., in front of new features). Given that the purpose of Disney’s shorts is to push the envelope, we can look forward to even more innovative animation in the future.

Here is a complete list of the shorts included in the upcoming collection as well as the filmmakers who introduce them:

Frozen Fever (2015) – Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee, Peter Del Vecho, Aimee Scribner
Feast(2014) – Academy Award winner, Patrick Osborne, Kristina Reed
Get A Horse!(2013) – Academy Award-nominated, Dorothy McKim, Eric Goldberg, Adam Green
Paperman (2012) – Academy Award winner, Kristina Reed, Patrick Osborne
Tangled Ever After(2012) – Nathan Greno, Aimee Scribner, Mark Kennedy
The Ballad of Nessie(2011) – Kevin Deters, Stevie Wermers-Skelton, Dorothy McKim
Tick Tock Tale(2010) – Dean Wellins
Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa(2010) – Kevin Deters, Stevie Wermers-Skelton, Dorothy McKim
How to Hook Up Your Home Theater(2007) – Kevin Deters, Stevie Wermers-Skelton, Ian Gooding
The Little Matchgirl (2006) – Academy Award-nominated, Dave Bossert, Tom MacDougall
Lorenzo (2004) – Academy Award-nominated, Mike Gabriel
