Disney Announces New Movie Dates

Walt Disney Pictures today announced some big new release dates and changes.

The studio will now release DreamWorks Pictures' The Fifth Estate wide instead of in limited theaters on October 18, 2013.

Disney is moving up the Angelina Jolie-starrer Maleficent from July 2, 2014 to May 30, 2014. The movie will be released in 3D.

The studio has dated McFarland, starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello, on November 21, 2014.

Pixar's The Good Dinosaur has been moved back a year and a half from May 30, 2014 to November 25, 2015. This means that 2014 will be the first year without a Pixar film since 2005.

Finding Dory, previously scheduled for November 25, 2015, will now open in theaters on June 17, 2016.

Man, it's gonna be pretty strange to have no Pixar film in 2014.

The only animated film from Disney in 2014 is Big Hero 6.

^Muppets Most Wanted, Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Marvel), Disneynature's Bears, Maleficent, Planes: Fire and Rescue, Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel), Tomorrowland, and Into the Woods

all of them sound great except Planes 2

^I almost forgot that Planes: Fire and Rescue is another animated film from Disney. So that and Big Hero 6 are the only animated films from Disney for 2014. There are some other Disney films but I didn't feel like putting that out since I only went for the movies that we'll watch out for.
