Genesis Rodriguez Talks 'Big Hero 6' Sequel Speculation: 'It Could Happen'

Genesis Rodriguez is giving JJJ what it wants — more Big Hero 6 sequel speculation!

The 27-year-old actress, who voices Honey Lemon in the animated Oscar winner, dished to MTV about the possibility of a second movie.

“We spoke during Oscar night and were like, ‘Well, maybe now that we got the Oscar, this might happen,’” she shared. “There’s nothing definitive. There’s talks of something happening. We just don’t know what yet.”

Genesis added, “[I'd] love to see the gang come back together…it was just a very special movie with a very special cast. It was so diverse and so fun to work with these people.”

Yes! do a sequel for Big Hero 6 after Frozen 2 hits theaters! The first Movie was Great, and Man of Action deserve more recognition for being involved with this movie. Plus, Tadashi as a reworked version of Sunfire with a different name in the sequel anybody?

I think Tadashi should remain as an inspiration to the team rather than him returning.

Stan Lee Teases ‘Big Hero 6’ Sequel In The Works

People loved ‘Big Hero 6.‘ It was an extremely pleasant surprise to see such an engaging and heart-wrenching animated feature. Fans are clamoring for more merchandise featuring Hiro Hamada, Baymax, and the rest of the super-powered team from San Fransokyo. Hell, I’m even wearing a ‘Big Hero 6’ t-shirt as I write this article. And with the fan demand being what it is, the question has never been “Will we see a sequel?” It’s only a matter of time before we see the next chapter in the first Marvel/Disney animation collaboration. But if you ask one of the founding fathers of the Marvel Universe, that time is sooner than we all think.

Previously, ‘Big Hero 6’ co-director Chris Williams stated that the team won’t make a sequel until they “feel strongly that there is a story that needs to be told.” A month later, Honey Lemon herself Genesis Rodriquez revealed that there’s currently “rumblings of something else happening.” Now, Stan Lee has made some comments that might indicate that there is a story that needs to be told right now.

While speaking to the Toronto Sun at a recent Gillette/Stark Industries event to promote a series of concept razors based on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Generalissimo commented on the state of Marvel’s cinematic universe. He touched on Spider-Man being welcomed back to the fold and the success of ‘Daredevil,’ but then went on to say that there’s no end in sight for the House of Ideas and their characters onscreen. That’s when he unexpectedly mentioned the latest batch of Disney heroes:

“After ‘Ant-Man,’ we’re going to start playing around with Doctor Strange, the Black Panther, the Inhumans, and then we have to come back for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2,, ‘Big Hero 6,, the Avengers, Captain America… I don’t even know how they decide what to do next, because every one of them is so exciting and the public is waiting for them.”
