Is Phineas and Ferb just an excuse to write songs?

Phineas and Ferb is one of the best and most thought out shows i know about. I mean how many shows do you know can have practically the exact same plotline every episode while still keeping it amazingly fresh. The music is just as amazing, although there may be some that arent as entertaining (very little), they still add to the show.

just a few of the amazing ones that i like

this ones special because it was in the episode that was an entire musical

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAYeFMPaPjI
this one was in the movie and is a great battle scene where they use all their inventions at once

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avoMoHdNhXQ
one of my personal favourites

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BPMZp5QYNE
a funny one just about a shoelace tip

and finally the song that was so good it won awards.

These songs plus the hundreds of others all add to the show's creativness. I for one love Phineas and Ferb and think it is a great show.
Phineas and Ferb better have a playset!!!1

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Disney songs.

But I think Phineas and Ferb set an unreasonable standard for mass production.
I'll try to quantify that statement.

Disney said they "must have a song every episode", so that means they have to keep churning them out regardless or not of whether the episode actually needs the song.
According to the list on the website, P&F currently has 206 episodes.
Averaging 1 song per episode, you see how many they had to write!
That's not counting episodes like Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together, which had 4 songs in total.

I know from experience the more you do something, the more the quality of whatever it is you are doing decreases, because the creative and intellectual momentum eventually grinds to a halt.

And by serious cartoons, I meant ones that aren't comedies, where there's a real threat at stake.
Perry's battles with Doofenschirtz qualifies, but as the focus of the story is on Phineas and Ferb, that removes the qualification again.

Basically, cartoons where you have to fight evil on a weekly basis, that's my definition of serious.
P&F is just a comedy, so I can't take it seriously.

And as for Hannah Montana, I don't recall them having a new song every episode.
It seems she was just singing the same song over and over!
Even her onscreen brother lampshades this in an episode, where he tells her he's sick of her signature performance song because he's seen it hundreds of times.

As an aside, 206 episodes?
Even dividing them by 2 (because most of them aren't full half hour shows), that's still breaking the 65 episode rule.
Now I'm suspicious.
Kim Possible fans had to fight hard to get Disney to extend the show and even then, all they got was 1 year extension.
Which makes me wonder what deals were done to allow P&F to get so far past the limit?

Phineas and Ferb is one of the most popular shows Disney have ever done. They sell so much merchandise from them, and now they're in Disney Infinity too, so I think we'll be seeing Phineas and Ferb for a while yet.

See.... Phineas and Ferb is the most Disney-quality show they have on Disney channel yet!
That is why it made it into Disney Infinity.

Don't take offense, but if they're so good, why were they the last one on the list to be released?
And without a playset to boot.
From my perspective, that means that they didn't really rate it as highly as the fans do.

And yes, I will concede the point that P&F is the best current Disney show.
But only because they have no competition whatsoever!
It's easy to be the best when you are the only quality show!

I'm wondering if they would have done so well if they had to compete with Kim Possible and Lilo&Stitch, not to mention several others of the Disney "golden age" cartoons.

Kinda sad about that really, Disney must be winding down if they've only got one good show left.
And no matter how much anyone loves it, it inevitably will have to come to an end.

There could be plenty of reasons why P&F are the last characters released and don't have a playset. There are 100 of Disney movies and TV shows, they can't make a playset for all of then no matter how popular they are. And some, while popular, just may not translate into a playset very well. They may have saved the figures for last because they ARE that popular.

Yeah, and the fact that they even made it into Disney Infinity 1 over so many other Movies and shows. They were even going to have 3 characters in the game plus a crystal variant. You really can't say they don't deserve to be in the game. Personally these are the characters that sucked me into the game from the very first trailer I saw.
