what would be really useful is to know which of the blu rays have been digitally remastered and subsequently re-released
... and which, if any, that have been released in the USA, are not region locked :ugeek:

^ I'm unsure what you are asking here Sheriff. Aren't all Disney Animated Blu-Rays digitally remastered?

And as for US imports, the region A locked Disney Animation and Disney Pixar films are:

Sleeping Beauty
The Wild
Meet the Robinsons
The Princess and the Frog

Ratatouille
Wall-E

an example being Peter Pan of which there are 3 blu ray releases on amazon uk ...

Peter Pan (1953) [Blu-ray] [Region Free] released 2012 / Peter Pan 1 & 2 [Blu-ray] [1953] [Region Free] released 2012 / Peter Pan: Diamond Edition [Blu-ray] [1953] [US Import] released 2013

... there are several versions of Peter Pan: Diamond Edition [Blu-ray] [1953] [US Import] released 2013 some of which have been confirmed being listed as region a but are in fact region free

some blu rays are digital restorations others are hi-res transfers from the original negative

^ This thread is dealing with the UK releases of Disney Blu-Rays only. There are some Disney's that are out now in the USA that are not out over here and vice versa is also true. Discussing worldwide releases is fine but the OP will never show this information.

There are two releases of the film Peter Pan on Blu-Ray in the UK. One of them is a single disc and contains Peter Pan only. There is also a double pack that includes Peter Pan and Return to Neverland. Both versions of Peter Pan are exactly the same in visuals, audio and special features.
MPK for short.

a big frustration i have is that several companies, including Disney, release blu ray versions in the USA but only release dvd versions in the UK.

i only want blu ray versions and that is why i occasionally import region free blu rays from the USA.

yes, yes, i have gone off on a tangent but i do think my point is valid ;)

maybe the topic content needs to be tweaked to cover what can be played in the UK :?:
