Marvel Unleashes a Flurry of Epic Announcements at Special Event

Today in Hollywood, Marvel President Kevin Feige hosted a special event to discuss the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He not only cleared up some mysteries surrounding the titles and release dates of films we have been expecting, such as a third Captain America, a third Thor, and a third Avengers, but he announced several new films that were a complete surprise, including Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, and Inhumans.

Among the biggest announcements was that the third Avengers film is actually two films, titled Avengers: Infinity War Part I & II, to be released in May of 2018 and May 0f 2019, respectively. Also, we got to meet the actor who will be portraying Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman!

Take a look at what was announced:

5/1/15 – AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

7/17/15 – ANT-MAN

5/6/16 – CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

11/4/16 – DOCTOR STRANGE

5/5/17 – GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 (previously dated 7/28/17)

7/28/17 – THOR: RAGNAROK

11/3/17 – BLACK PANTHER

5/4/18 – AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART I

7/6/18 – CAPTAIN MARVEL

11/2/18 – INHUMANS

Really excited about all of these, particularly Doctor Strange as he's a personal favourite character of mine.

I'm mostly excited about Captain Marvel and Black Panther. I'm sad it seems like Black Widow will never get a solo film. She deserves better than her backstory and story in general being shown in Avengers films

Glad that Ms Marvel will be back in action! But I am also suprised about no Black Widow film :( She's become very popular recently and she's one of my favourite superheroes (or agents?)

I think Black Panther and Captain Marvel are great steps in the right direction for super hero movies. Hawkeye/Black Widow would be a great action movie, but doesn't quite fit the Super Hero mold. I am most disappointed that we don't have a Hulk movie slated.

I am sooo excited for Captain Marvel that makes me very very happy! 2018 is way too long to wait, but I guess I should just be thankful officially coming at all! Such a great lineup, all the movies coming up should be great.

Apparently, the Inhumans' calendar is a few days off from ours...here's the correct version of the Phase 3 MCU timeline!
