Gru has a love interest?
That's gonna make it a bit less enjoyable for me.
I'm a sucker for that single father stuff.

I got to see Despicable Me 2 today.

Since it's all spoilers:

Despicable Me 2
The part I loved most was how Edith had become a mini-ninja.

Her favorite party outfit is a ninja outfit.
I find it amusing she dresses all in black and is still wearing her pink hat!

Also, she wears that costume to every party she attends, regardless of the theme.
The first scene, she has it at a pink princess party, the next, she's attending a traditional mexican party and naturally, looks very out of place!
But I assume that's a character trait, she doesn't care about fitting in, if she wants to be a ninja, she's going to be one!

I have to wonder about her favorite toy though, she carries a real katana and does actually know how to use it!
That's probably another gag, only someone like Gru would think it is perfectly normal to let a little girl carry around a katana wherever she goes.
Apparently, she's also been learning martial arts (most likely from Gru's mother) and there's also a scene where she does a leaping routine through some deathtraps, so it's not just a costume, she is a real ninja!

I also liked the scene where the mutant minion is attacking Agnes and is about to eat her toy unicorn when she lets him have it!
She blasts him with a loud scream that cracks everything with glass in the room and paralyzes the minion, giving her time to get her unicorn back.

It's also funny to see Gru discovering the overprotective father aspect when Margo starts dating.

I quite liked Lucy, it was fun to see her as an overeager low level agent.

I also liked the way they played with expectations, doing lots of misdirection as to who the villian actually is.
Gru insists it is the owner of the nearby salsa restaurant, but everyone thinks that's because he doesn't want Margo to date the man's son.
Later in the movie, they arrest the hair salon owner, but it turns out it really was the restaurant owner, as he is a former villian named El Macho (who staged his own death to go underground) and he's resuming his evil career.

They had a nice battle scene at the end, with Gru, Dr Nefario and the girls fighting off the hordes of mutant minions.
I was quite amused when Dr Nefario realizes it wasn't appropriate to bring the girls to an epic showdown between villians.

I accidentally opened the spoilers, and they didn't load. XD

SWEET SUCCESS. I already spoiled Equestria Girls -_-.

Why don't they have proper toylines for Despicable Me 2?
Or number 1 for that matter.

It's a personal hobby of mine to collect toys of my favorite CGI movies.

But when I went looking for Despicable Me merchandise, plushies, Minion figures, tiny statuettes and a er, not Dart gun was I found.

It's action figures I prefer.

In this case, I'd like one of Gru, the girls and Lucy.
Ninja Edith would be especially awesome!

I don't expect it to be ever addressed, but will they ever discuss what happened to Vector?

Despicable Me
At the end of the movie, he's trapped on the moon with a Minion.

And well, he wouldn't last longer then 3 days without food and water.
So unless the AVL made a point of bringing him back (although they'd probably throw him in jail afterwards), it's pretty obvious what happened to him.
And I doubt his father would bother rescuing him, given how unforgiving he is towards those who fail him.

Still, I would expect that if they need to use Vector again for whatever reason, they can bring him back and clarify how he returns.

I saw this on Wednesday, and I thought it was a really good and funny movie. The minions were funny as usual, so that made the movie all worthwhile to see!
