OFFICIAL: Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor-Johnson Join 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'
Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' has found its Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver!

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen have officially joined the Avengers family as the brother-sister duo of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the highly-anticipated sequel to 2012's smash-hit "Marvel's The Avengers"! "Avengers: Age of Ultron" arrives in theaters May 1, 2015.

Taylor-Johnson broke out with his roles as Dave Lizewski in the "Kick-Ass" franchise and with his portrayal of a young John Lennon in "Nowhere Boy," for which he won an Empire Award for Best Newcomer. Since then, Taylor Johnson has starred in 2012's critically-acclaimed "Anna Karenina" and director Oliver Stone's "Savages."

Since making her big screen debut in 2011 with "Silent House" and "Martha Marcy May Marlene," for which the actress garnered a number of awards and nominations, Olsen has gone on to star alongside the likes of Robert DeNiro and Sigourney Weaver in "Red Lights," Josh Brolin and Samuel L. Jackson in director Spike Lee's "Oldboy."

Taylor-Johnson and Olsen will share the screen as leads in the highly anticipated "Godzilla" remake scheduled for a May 2014 release.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will bring the Marvel Universe's biggest heroes together again to face one of their biggest villains, with "Marvel's The Avengers" director Joss Whedon returning to write and direct the sequel. "Marvel's The Avengers" was released in 2012 and went on to earn $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the third-largest grossing movie of all time.

In addition to "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" on April 4, 2014; "Guardians of the Galaxy" on August 1, 2014; and "Ant-Man" on July 31, 2015.

'Stalingrad' Actor Thomas Kretchmann to Play Villain in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'
Joss Whedon's sequel reunites the cast of Marvel superheroes and also adds Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and James Spader.

Thomas Kretschmann, who plays Abraham van Helsing on NBC's Dracula, has signed on for a major villain role in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Joss Whedon is writing and directing the sequel, which reunites the main cast of Marvel's massive superhero team-up movie. The movie is also adding new actors and heroes to the fold, such as Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlett Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver.

Additionally, the main villain is a sentient artificial being known as Ultron, who will be played by James Spader.

Sources say that Kretschmann will play Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, an antagonist for both Captain America (Chris Evans) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). In the comics, the man was a Nazi officer who becomes one of the heads of HYDRA, a terrorist organization.

Scarlett Johansson Describes Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron Screenplay

I think the script is dark and it’s dry, it’s got this amazing one-liner, glass-cutting sense of humor. Obviously the script is very cerebral. It doesn’t lose that exciting comic book aspect that people enjoyed in the first film, but it’s smart and it feels like the next installment. It doesn’t feel like a rehashing, it feels like these characters are moving forward, plotlines are moving forward. It’s deep and I think that’s why people really respond to the Marvel universe, because the films are fun and exciting and have all that flashy stuff, but there’s a gravity to them. People can expect that gravity this time around.

Elizabeth Olsen on Her ‘More Rooted’ Avengers: Age of Ultron Costume

With production on the much-anticipated sequel already underway in Johannesburg, Avengers: Age of Ultron star Elizabeth Olsen spoke with Total Film (via Super Hero Movie News) about her Scarlet Witch costume, which she says will mark a departure from the traditional comic book design.

"I don’t think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those outfits," she says. "I am not a professional athlete and nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn’t be fun for anyone who wasn’t those things. He already had a different idea. It respects and involves the comic book character, but it’s different. More rooted. It’s for someone today… If someone walked around wearing what she wore in the comics, people would stop and say, ‘What the hell… she thinks she’s a superhero!'"

In addition to Olsen and quite a few returning Avengers, Age of Ultron will also feature James Spader as the title villain, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Strucker, Paul Bettany as The Vision and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver.

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015.

Scarlett Johansson Has a ‘Very Big’ Role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Solo Film Teased

When Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits the big screen on April 4, it will mark Scarlett Johansson's third big screen appearance as Natasha "Black Widow" Romanoff. That will soon be followed by a fourth, Avengers: Age of Ultron, in 2015. According to Total Film's new interview with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige (via Comic Book Movie), the much-anticipated sequel will feature a "very big" role for the character. What's more, he teases that a Black Widow solo film may be the next step for the character.

"We learn more about her past," Feige says of the Joss Whedon sequel, "and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film. The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that."

Of course, Black Widow is going to first have to make it through the events of The Winter Soldier, which Feige promises is a game-changer for the MCU.

"We wanted to change the dynamic of the cinematic universe with this film," Feige continues. "We wanted Cap and really the entire cinematic universe to be very different at the end of 'Winter Soldier' than it is at the beginning. Therefore, when we meet the Avengers at the top of 'Age of Ultron,' it's a very different landscape than we left them at the end of the first film. Partially that's because we love the rhythm that the comic books have developed. Each of the characters appear in their runs, occasionally they get together for a big event or crossover series, they part again, and then they come back together again."

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
