Other animated productions you like

Postby buckmana » Wed Apr 24, 2013 6:47 am

To save on creating two seperate topics, I decided one would suffice.

What animated movies and series (including CGI) do you like that aren't Disney or Pixar based?

Movies
Monsters Vs Aliens
How to Train Your Dragon
Despicable Me
Kung Fu Panda
The Croods
Megamind

TV Shows
Danny Phantom
My Life as a Teenage Robot
Monsters Vs Aliens (I haven't seen it yet)
Dragons: Riders of Berk
Invader Zim

If you haven't seen the Monsters Vs Aliens TV show, how do you know you like it?

Call it a leap of faith.
I have confidence in DreamWorks, so I'm fully prepared to endorse their shows without watching them.
Well, provided it's about a good franchise that is.

Also, technically, I have seen a couple of episodes.
They made two seperate MvA Halloween specials in tv show format.
So even if these aren't part of the series, it's a good indication of how they would handle a full tv series.

And since I liked the specials, the odds are high I'll like the tv series too.

I like most all of you list. How to Train Your Dragon was excellent, and I think it gets lost among some of the other Dreamworks stuff. Kung Fu Panda was fun, even the television show. I really like the Transformers Prime. I'd go as far as to say it maybe the best version of the Transformers cartoons, and that is saying a lot coming from a G1er like me. Knowing that I come from that time, you know GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, M.A.S.K, and G1 are all in the mix. I loved Danger Mouse. I loved C.O.P.S. Man, I have watched way too many cartoons in my life.

I used to live and breathe everything Studio Ghibli. I haven't bought a Ghibli release since I became single, and I am not sure why...

My favourite none-Disney/Pixar animations are:
Coraline
Paranorman
The Polar Express
Robot Chicken
Everything DC comics based from Batman the animated series forward

Mostly I like Stop Motion, and I consider it animation in my mind.
