Our Yellow sponge friend will be returning in his second movie, coming out in February 2015!

The main plot of the movie is that a Pirate has stolen the secret Krabby Patty formula.
In an attempt to get it back, Spongebob and friends traverse through our world above the Ocean.
Along their way, they discover a magical book where whatever is written down becomes true.
They use this to transform themselves into amazing superheroes to get the Formula back.

All of the cast will be returning for the sequel along with celebrity cameos throughout the movie.
Steven Hillenburg has even made a return for the movie, after he decided to quit after the third season.
Steven Hillenburg was the one who made the old episodes good, rather than the horrible new ones, so have hope for this movie!

It has also been confirmed on Twitter that this is not the finale of the show, as rumors have suggested.

So.... ARE YA READY!?!?

Well, if this really is the last SpongeBob thing ever, my childhood is officially over.

Boom. Gone. Exploded. Although in all fairness, Spongebob must earn, like, a billion bucks a day, I highly doubt any other Nick show makes that much. They'd lose so much dosh, it wouldn't be worth it.

But about the movie, I'm soooooooooooo excited!! I hope it's got some incredibly catchy songs in like the original, I have Now That We're Men and Goofy Goober Rock on my iPod! :D Only thing I'm not such a big fan of is the animation style in the real world, I'd have preferred if they'd stuck with the original animation like the first movie. But overall, mega excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I hope this is more like the pre-SpongeBob Movie era. If they pull another House Fancy thing I'm walking right out of the theater.

I hope this movie has better humor than the show over the past few years. The show is so incredibly unfunny that it makes me think a bunch of kindergarteners are writing it. I really think everyone at Nickelodeon now is patheticallly naiive. I dont like a single one of their shows.

I've not watched live-action Nick since they pulled iCarly and Victorious (apart from Sam and Cat, of course!) Those shows plus Drake and Josh are the only live action shows of theirs I loved. Animation has gone downhill too, I love SpongeBob (obviously), and Fairly Odd Parents and T.U.F.F. Puppy. I'm probably the oldest person to have ever typed that sentence... :D

I also have a SpongeBob duvet. Yeah. I went there. And I'm proud.

Not the last spongebob thing ever.

It was renewed for a 10th season that would pick up aftER the movie premiered. q

Also Steven Hillenberg, the creator of the show, and writer of the first 3 seasons and first movie is back.

Spongebob is mine, and my sisters childhood. My sis will be a legal adult when the movie comes out, and it started when she was 2.

Spongebob has a special place in my heart, having aired right as I was born fifteen years ago.
My entire childhood, literally, was apart of this show.
I am so glad to hear confirmation it isn't ending.
Despite the new episodes not being as great, I still enjoy them.
And I have much hope for this movie with Steven Hillenburg returning!
What if he went back to the show? Oh, I can only dream.
