Take Ownership of figures resets xp?

One question, now how do you "take ownership"? I never could find the option in the Menu's.

From Either in the Toy box, or a Play set press the Options (on the PS3 this is Select) and a menu will pop up 'Take Ownership' will be an option, only if the word Guest is next to your Level on the screen, otherwise you all ready own it.

I accidentally played on my roomie's ID instead of my own, d'oh! So I restarted the game under my own ID and found it showing "guest" for the character. I read a little bit about it on here, opened the menu with start as soon as I got past the intro and selected 'Take Ownership'. Now it's displaying no longer as guest, but the character is still at the level he had on the other ID (level 2). I'm on the PS3 unpatched with internet disabled.

[edit] I proceed directly into Hall of Heroes and my character reset to level 0. Okaaaaaaaaaaay. This is so.. very confusing.
