Is figure memory optional?

including hints, tips and glitches. any hardware, software or gameplay related questions go in this forum
please try and make it clear in the topic title what the content is

Is figure memory optional?

I've seen other questions about figure memory but they didn't answer my question(which is stated above).

No, I don't believe figure memory is optional. Data is always saved on the figure so that you can bring it to a friends house and start off from where you left off. There really isn't that much that is saved on the actual console, except for the Toy Boxes I think.

@thedisneyfanatic22, thanks for the answer. I'm hoping for crystal starter pack characters, so that I can get Captain Jack Sparrow for my sister.

Game data's saved to the console. Character progress like ToyMaker spin stars is saved to the figure. Not game saves.
