What does this game have against townspeople????

I spent 20 minutes setting up a whole bunch of townspeople dancing on a disco floor. An hour later I load my box and a group of 15 is now 4...another load and there are 3...what the??? Is there a secret murdered picking them off? What gives??? Help.

Whenever you use townspeople use friend generators and have it spawn them at locators. That way they'll be in the place you want them every time you load it and they won't disappear.

Yes, townspeople, when given the chance, will wander everywhere and be insanely difficult to find.
