Is Judy's gun a Special Move only?

I was watching a video of Judy's skill tree and it showed her tranquilizer gun as a Special move.
I assume this means she can only use it if she has Special Move points.

Does this mean if her Special Move meter is at zero, she can only do melee?
That the gun is non-functional until she "reloads" it?

That's correct. But don't let that discourage you she's extremely fun and actually a pretty powerful character with her quick moves and her bicycle kick. In fact in place of her gun she has the dash ability which allows her to move further than the Jedi; I prefer melee so I like characters to have the dash ability as opposed to ranged projectiles personally.

On a side note her tranq gun (special) is extremely powerful, she stuns opponents (even other players) and it lasts a very long time.

I am wondering why Judy kicks a lot, but doesn't appear to use her arms.
As far as I can tell, the most she does is place one hand flat on the ground to brace as she does a sweep kick.
Surely being trained in combat, she should at least use her arms/hands to fight sometimes, even if she prefers to highstep.

In the movie, she did make more use of her arms, grabbing the weasel as he tried to get away, gripping objects to flip off and hitting the same weasel with a large artificial donut over the head.

It's because she's a rabbit; they have huge legs/feet and tiny arms. It would be weird if she punched more than she kicked. Plus she kicked more in combat than punched anyway. Even when she had boxing gloves on she kicked the rhino's fist into his own face lol. (awesome montage scene btw)

Has anyone done the feat with Judy defeat 20 enemies with the gun

^I did. I wanted to do it fast so I put out some special move capsules and some symbiote spawns.

I've done it as well, just in the Hub though.
