Can you play battlegrounds versus mode online, e.g. between two Xbox one.

No it is a playset and there is no online play for any playsets.

But you can't use that with Battlegrounds, correct? I was under the impression that there is no online play with Battlegrounds...

the share play is a playstation function that allows you to have someone online count as a local second player.

Therefore the game just see them as player 2, so you would be able to play a playset
