I know that on Marvel Battlegrounds you have to complete certain challenges to unlock the alternative costumes. My question is: do you also need to own those physical power discs for the costumes to work?

Thanks!

No you don't. They just become available at the character select screen:

Thanks! That's very cool to me, since I don't have any Marvel discs.

If you're in the UK, SMYTHS TOY STORES are selling the MARVEL power disc blind bags for 99p. I bought a couple the other day.

I've looked and yes FALCON and CAPTAIN MARVEL where a NORTH AMERICA ONLY release in a 2-pack bag. I'm pleasantly surprised however to see Falcon on the CEX site for a fiver. Not their most expensive disc ( TRON sky and terrain are pricier ). And they have CAPTAIN MARVEL too, she's £4.

JUST FOR INFO: CEX's most expensive disc is the PETER PAN Skydome at £10. Then Merlin's summon at £7. Zurg's wrath and the TRON discs at £6 each.

I was happy to pick up the orange 'exclusive' Tron's user control for 25p the other day. and a few others for 10, 25 and 50p each too. I don't have anywhere locally apart from CEX and occasionally at CASH CONVERTERS for discs, so CEX online is my best resource. Ebay sellers seem to want at least £1.50 for each disc, and it's commonly much more.
