Anyone else's Target getting a "hard" lock on items?

Toys R Us wouldn't sell the Cars set because of the error and Toys R Us wouldn't price match the play set because of the promotion. I just told them I didn't want there promotion for the set... Didn't work so had to hit up Walmart for the price match.

I just picked up Cars & Lone Ranger from Target, and it didn't lock on the Cars. The cashier just scanned it and it was fine.

I went to 2 Targets. The first was sold out and sent me to another that had 24 in stock. I drove to the other one and was told they were sold out. As I was checking out, I saw a manager with one and asked if we could buy it. She refused to sell it to me and said that they were waiting to here back from corporate.

I was furious to say the least. I'll be calling the GM and the Corporate Office tomorrow. She could have very easily figured out a way around the problem but refused to. It was right in their ad for heaven's sakes!

I then went to TRU across town and price-matched it.

Yeah Target associates aren't what you would call "high paid" employees, therefore they have zero incentive to help you. So goes this Walmart nation.

Same thing happened to me. Cars was locked so the manager just rang up two Lone Rangers. They were shocked when it happened and had no idea what to do

Yup, Cars was locked for me! I decided on Lone Ranger for now, since Target's ad runs until Saturday.

This is very strange, I am the only one to not get locked up on my Cars.

i was in the same boat, i went to one and they had already pulled it and told me that the register said it didn't come out until october 15th so i went to one i used to work at and managed to get them to ring up a lone ranger one but sell me a cars one. they know it's a big error. i was talking to them and they know it's out today and that it's featured in the add but they get a huge fine for breaking street date so they've been pulling them down until they get the ok.

Same here (VA), and I managed to get them to price match Wallmart and everything, but my receipt just shows Misc. Merch. Good thing I don't need to return it.
