Yeah, I agree.
The early idea was to make them very simple in order to easily combine the various properties together similar to what Lego does. But in doing so we were losing the character appeal which would be so necessary for the physical toys

It generally takes about a month and a half to two months from concept to sculpt!

thanks. i'm guessing that doesn't include the time to animate and code characters though?

It is hilarious that Buzz from Toy Story is advocating hand-drawn animation, of Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs no less, and it's the first clip posted for the Disney Infinity concept. Celebrates the history, the conflict, the conflict resolution, and provides a spokesperson for Disney Infinity toys with an original Toy Story toy. And yet it also shows the humble beginnings where the video game characters were still being refactored to reflect their Disney/Pixar personalities. It's a great little video clip. 8-)

Thanks, ranger! Yeah, I was looking for a good Tim Allen clip to animate and when I came across this one, I had to have it!

The cruel irony! haha

This is an early, pre-Infinity weight test using a proto Mr. Incredible still lacking facial controls

I'm a total behind the scenes/concepts/tests junky so you have no idea how much i appreciate these! I'd love to see more pre Disney Infinity 1 stuff, and do you have any 3.0 concepts? I'd love to see some :D

This was a silly Pre-Infinity character concept animation test

Mr. Incredible is a favorite - and it's cool how the early concept animation of picking up a box has evolved into a fun, themed, gameplay component of Battlegrounds 8-).

The Ken animation is really silly  - and is a good reminder how important the music is to Infinity (just as it's important to the Disney movies). Personal YouTube gameplay videos need to go without for legal reasons - but the Toy Box games are much more immersive with the tunes.

Love the videos! Great insight and really gives you an appreciation for the subtleties of the characters movements. I generally think you guys nail the figures on the head when it comes to their movement authenticity.
Felix after seeing that Victor made it to animation, I'm curious, how far did the Zurg make it through the process? I know he was put into enough trailers/ads that we believed he was going to be a figure.
Oh and the Wicked Witch, I remember seeing her on a concept store-display. Was that the extent of her development?
