I don't understand why having to put each individual figure down on the base every time you want to use them is such a controversial concept. That's literally the point of a toys to life game, and it's how Disney Infinity has functioned since the start.

yes, you do have to re-scan figures on every new gaming session. this was confirmed to me when i asked at the press event.

I don't see how re-scanning is any different from any other mode of gameplay in Infinity. On the contrary, the fact that the character remains available even after it's removed from the base is the revolutionary concept introduced here, but a necessary one in order to provide 4-player co-op.

@vysane yea it's a normal scenario with toys to life. It is cool that you can do this. It would be cool if they implemented this into the menu in the game, where you could scan the figures in game and chose them from the menu instead of changing the figures (until you change game or turn off console). Would be good for playsets when you die or to stop your kids having to change the figures and save the fear of them dropping them lol.

^ well that is good if they do get permanently unlocked, i was under the impression only toy box toys and tokens were awarded from challenges

I got lucky and my Walmart sold me a Boba Fett and the Marvel Battlegrounds Playset early. I thought there was no point to opening it since I had heard a download would be needed to play it but my kids wanted to try it so we did.....lo and behold it worked. They stayed up pretty late tonight trying it out. Will post some pics later....
