The Amazing Disappearing 2.0 Power Discs

Sorry if this has already been covered, but the search terms were too generic to return a result.

What is happening with 2.0 power discs? We got into DI a little late in the game - Christmas of 2014. We were able to collect almost all 1.0 power discs, and we assumed 2.0 discs would stick around (and perhaps show up in some TRU 4 packs/$1 sales) after 3.0 launched. However, they are becoming almost impossible to find in our local stores. TRU, Target, and Best Buy haven't stocked them in months. We've found a pack or two at various Walmarts around town. That's it.

Are there any rumors about the future of legacy power discs? I asked JV on Twitter about repackaging them in clear packs, and he mentioned then (last fall sometime) that it was a consideration. So what's up? And, besides eBay, where are the best places to find legacy or even used discs?

I would think there's a missed opportunity to make these available for all the new adopters under 3.0, who are just beginning to discover the creative opportunities of the Toy Box.

Best way if you don't have them locally could be to trade. Start a thread here and you might get some offers. I've loads of 1.0 discs so post what you need and I'll send you them no problem.

Yeah, I've had some luck with trading. That's probably what we'll need to do to complete our collection.

If you're in the UK I noticed Argos is selling most of these admittedly the 2.0 discs were priced at 99p for some reason and I think they were charging £3.49p for what looked like 1st wave power discs but that could be because they used the wrong picture with the power disc pack (the Marvel disc used one of the Iron Man Sky dome discs I think) not so sure about the 2.0 disney ones though!

Considering Battlegrounds is incorporating the 2.0 power discs as unlockables, I would be surprised if they didn't pull them all.

I was trying to wait for Toys R Us to run some if the mega sales they ran for 1.0 discs. It hasn't happened yet.

I finished my 1.0 collections with the 4 for $1 sale last year. That's right, $0.25 per pack!!!
