Welcome to the wonderful world of farming in Disney Infinity 3.0! To start your farming needs you will have to go to the Toybox Hub and speak to Woody. The actual farming level is called, “Plotting for Plants”.

The Basics:
To begin farming you must first complete the tutorial from Woody. He will show you the items you will need for farming. Your sidekick will have to equip a farmer hoe to get them working the field. Once you discover a new plant, you will be given a hat with the new plant on it. Each hat has a luck requirement on it that the sidekick must meet to wear the hat. These hats dramatically increase what crop that is being planted. The food that you crop can be used to increase the skill on your sidekicks. Each crop upgrades a specific set of abilities. So depending on what you are wanted to do with a sidekick, you can choose how you want to level them up. Finally, after you complete the tutorial, you are given the option of buying more land plots to farm on for 5000 sparks per plot.

The Equipment:
Farming equipment will help you farm better crops dramatically. Unfortunately you have to do a little bit of work to find them. You must play “Amazing Treasure Hunt” from the toybox hub to find these items. They will be located inside chests. You can replay this mission over to get new gear if you don’t find the equipment you’re looking for.
Farming hats give you a better chance to plant the crop you’re looking for. Each hat requires a certain amount of luck to wear. The hats have a picture on it to remind you what they should be planting. To receive these hats you must first find a new crop and harvest it. Once it is harvest for the first time, you will get a red capsule with that hat item in it.

I was just thinking about the farming aspect of 3.0 today and how we really didn't have a lot of information on it. Thanks. I can't wait to check out the guide.

One question I have about this: How those the timing work? Do they keep working even if you are not playing? Can I put my sidekick there to farm and then turn off my console, play a playset...?

If not, this will be pretty much impossible to do for me! haha

The timer keeps going even if the console is off. you do not have to be in the toybox for them to keep growing.

The timer keeps going if my console is not connected to the internet?

@Anxjos Yes. The timer is connected to the console. So even while you are in the pause screen, the crops are growing. Sidekicks won't plant while paused, but the crops will grow.

Set my sidekick to work the field, but when I left he came with me. Do I have to stay at the farm til all plots are planted?
