CLU was planned as a playable character

Very cool. If you watch his FX demo reel, you will see a TRON tank rez animation. Possible unused vehicle. It will be interesting to see what was lost as the game designers begin to post resumes...

I'm pretty sure Clu was to be another digital exclusive character. He was included in the files in a late 2.0 update, they are still there so modding him to make playable wouldnt be out of the question. Sadly all the 3.0 files are well encrypted so there is likely a wealth of characters just sat there waiting to be found.

I'm still pining for the TRON texture and sky. I refuse to pay approx £7 each for the discs, which is what people seem to be asking. I read there may be a sky workaround in 2.0, does this still work? Is there any other way to get the 'modern' TRON sky and texture pack?

You can get the sky via the random sky changer capsule distributor... As for the textures, you gotta buy the disc

I think that CLU would be one of the powerful characters in DI.

It doesn't surprise me there are "unreleased" content... as a digital only character he would have been cool, i'm not surprised they didn't pull the trigger following Trongate and also being so similar to Sam Flynn, it might have been a tough sell to produce toys (especially if things weren't looking good at the time the digital update was done for 2.0)... this still just makes me feel this game still would have so much more future had the toys not been involved and characters had been DLC only...

Seeing this makes me really sad..

So that brings the total number of confirmed figures that won't happen now to six, right?

CLU, Peter Pan, Spider-Gwen, Doctor Strange (apparently he was mentioned in the same interview that revealed Spider-Gwen, from what I've heard), Moana, and Jyn Erso (these last two weren't technically confirmed outright, but with a Moana and Rogue One playset in the works, they may as well have been).
