Super Mario Galaxy 2. I was so hyped to get this game when it came out, and when I did get it I played it nonstop. It was one of the first games I tried getting 100% on without using a guide, which was something I didn't do very often. (I got everything up to one star...) To me, this is still the definitive platformer, and I love it. It's just sooooooo good. Gameplay wise, it does pretty much everything important right, and it's just a joy to play. I can realise some of the flaws it has now (like the Excuse Plot, which always disappointed me after SMG1's better-than-most-Mario-games'-plot) but I can overlook them easily. Nostalgia + awesome game <3
3DS. It can play the entire DS library and its own library has incredible games (Uprising is still just... Wow). The first console I got on launch date as well (besides the DSi, but I don't count that since it wasn't for a new gen). I've loved seeing all the new releases coming out for this console, and buying them as they came out. It's something I haven't done before this gen. Also, I love portable consoles, since I like being able to bring them around with me.
